Okocat Long Hair Clumping Wood Cat Litter Review

Let’s face it, the litter box is smelly, dusty, and filled with more nastiness than anyone cares to think about. Let’s not forget the dusty little paw prints all over the wood flooring and litter scattered throughout the house. Cats can make some stinky messes sometimes, and finding the right litter can sometimes feel like searching for a needle in a haystack.

"This product blew my mind! For the same price as that 40 pound box of clay litter, a 13 pound box of Okocat lasts for times longer." -Andria Warren

Over the years, I have tried clay, corn, wheat, paper, sawdust, peat moss, and seemingly every type of litter in between, but I could not find that one with the perfect combination of features. It is important to me that I avoid litters containing perfumes, dyes, and any other toxins that my cats may ingest while grooming themselves. I live in a tiny apartment with three cats, two of which are long haired. I need a kitty litter that can handle heavy use, absorb odors, and still clump for easy cleaning. My husband, a new cat parent, not only has a mild cat allergy, but dust and strong odors can sometimes cause respiratory distress. It is a constant battle to ensure the cats and their litter boxes do not contribute to his allergies.

Free from harsh chemicals and synthetic additives, Okocat comes from fallen, unused lumber

At my wit’s end, I decided to try the Okocat wood litter. This product blew my mind! For the same price as that 40 pound box of clay litter, a 13 pound box of Okocat lasts four times longer. It is far more absorbent than any other material I have ever tried – no more puddles and no more stripping the box every couple of weeks. The wood clumps surprisingly well so I don’t need to worry about leaving any waste behind. There has also been no ammonia smell and no dust since switching, and my cats are much more comfortable doing their business. There is still some tracking throughout the house but it’s much more manageable as it’s mostly contained to the area immediately surrounding the box.

Little to no airborne dust, for a cleaner, fresher home and easier breathing

As an added bonus, Okocat wood litter is completely biodegradable and flushable. No mess, no hassle. It is also made from sustainably-sourced natural wood fibers that are free of dyes, additives, and other nasty chemicals. I no longer need to worry about what my cats may be accidentally ingesting or absorbing through their paws. Because this litter is wood based with no added scents, the cat box always seems clean, inviting, and ready to use.

Okocat is naturally lightweight. Wood is less than half the weight of regular clay litter

If I had to choose one product that has changed my life as a pet owner, Okocat would absolutely be it. My house has been cleaner, my cats more comfortable, and my wallet happier. I cannot recommend it enough to any cat parent looking for a new litter.
